Please note that the horizontal navigation bar under the website header now contains some drop down menus with sub-pages listed for easier navigation.
The Garden Club website information is shared between several Google sites. These include the original home google site, the member secure site, the Club Buzz site, the archives site, the 2010 Flower Show site, the 2012 Flower Show site and the 2012 NW District Meeting site. It is entirely possible that other Google sites will be added in the future.
Whenever one finds oneself on something other than the original home google site, the horizontal navigation bar under that google site header should have a button to the left which says "BVGC Home." By clicking that button, one will be returned to the original home google site.
There is a Google search box in the upper right hand corner to the right of the website header on every page on each of our Google sites. This search only looks in the individual Google sites from which one is typing said search text. It can be a very useful tool!
Members can easily change the size of the website's text to suit their personal preference.
To increase the size of website text on a Windows PC, press the CTRL button and the key containing both the "+" and the "=" symbols at the SAME time. On an Apple PC, press the Command button and the Shift key and the key containing both the "+" and the "=" symbols at the SAME time. This would be useful if you want to try to read the website and don't have your reading glasses available.
To decrease the size of website text on a Windows PC, press the CTRL button and the "-" (hyphen or subtraction symbol) at the SAME time. On an Apple PC, press the Command button and the "-" (hyphen or subtraction symbol) at the SAME time. This might be useful if photos on a web page are overlapping text which you would like to read.
Text size can be adjusted as often or as little as one wishes.

The password to use can be found on Page 36 of your Yearbook.
email@example.com in which you ask the website personnel to share the secure site with your gmail address.
Otherwise when one is logged in to their gmail and one tries to go to the secure site, you will not be prompted to log in to the site. At this point, one should find the link which says "Request access" on the page which comes up. Click that link and follow those instructions.
To reiterate ... IF the computer you are using is logged into a gmail address to which the secure site has not been shared, the user will not be asked to log in to the secure site. Instead, you should probably find the link which says "Request access" and request access to share the website using your household's personal gmail address.
Please note that personal email addresses from other email providers such as yahoo, cox, att or msn CANNOT be used to log in to the secure site. One must have a gmail address to request access for logging in to the secure site without using the Garden Club "generic" user name and password.

To close a file, click the X in the upper right corner of the screen.
To edit a file from the view screen, it will be necessary to click on the OPEN command at the top of the document. This should open the file in a window which shows all the menu commands for working with text and files.
If you are experiencing problems, we recommend pausing the slideshow and advancing the show manually one photo at a time as they load and are viewed. Another recommendation is to click on the photo slideshow itself which will open a new browser window on our photo sharing site from which you will be able to look at the photos. One can see an overview of all album photos and select individual photos to view or manually advance through all the album photos. Your patience with this technology is greatly appreciated.
